Palm Glen Shopping Center Redevelopment

Positioned amid a busy neighborhood and business district, the Palm Glen Shopping Center is in a prime location to capitalize on nearby residential and flow through traffic. The existing shopping center no longer is capable of drawing high value retailers or shoppers due to the age and condition of the center compared to competitors in surrounding areas. The vision of this redevelopment is to create a fresh, safe and desirable shopping experience for the public that will attract both national and local high quality retailers.

The center is currently anchored by a grocery store with a charter school, a bank and other retail establishments comprising the remainder of the center. There are several large pad retail buildings that block visibility and prime parking areas for the main portion of the shopping center. A significant portion of the available parking is located in the back of the buildings requiring shoppers and employees to walk long distances to their cars. The repositioned retail center will appeal to a wide array of clientele who will be able to take advantage of its prime location offering direct access. Parking will be expanded located primarily in front of the retail shops. The larger parking fields will allow for a more safe and pleasant shopping experience, including new landscaping and site lighting. The center will be redefined as a shopping destination offering consumers a wide array of retail and entertainment options. Portions of the existing site will be renovated and new pad sites with a variety of uses from financial, drug store and restaurant. The Southwestern design inspired center features welcoming arched entries constructed from masonry and stucco. New tower features will create visual focal points to highlight retail entries. The airy and open design is reinforced by the stately palm trees encircling the site. The pedestrian-friendly center will encourage one-stop-shopping and will feature enhanced "walk ability" for patrons. Located in a densely populated area, the Palm Glen Shopping Center is surrounded by residential and light industrial. The center provides direct access to Glendale Avenue, a major thoroughfare in the northwest area of Phoenix.
